EOC Week 10 Networking

I would join a non-profit organization like the Foto Chix of Las Vegas club to start networking and getting them to know my business. I would go to different events that the Foto Chix would do and do group shootings together. The come from all walks of life to be able to extend my network with their many networks they have built throughout their photography and other works they have done. I would be able to network with the models they have shot, the families and the friends they have shot. I would email the most photography business oriented person such as Erik Kabik to get to know him and his work and possibly be able to work for him if not intern for his business. He has a network of celebrities, music artists and architectural clientele and be able to network with that. I would be able to expand my work by learning from his work and his background. I would be able to add unto my background his skills. I would be able to network with Randy Becker to be able to use the education he has and network with school. I would use Becker to expand with his architecture, food and products to gain some customers. I would also expand my network with events such as WPPI, Bridal Expo and Pet events to do portraits, network with photographers and add customers to my network. I would like to expand my network with my owner/boss because he has his own financial corporation that would be a good add of customers. I would use the churches I have attended to expand my network and be doing portrait shots for them as well. I would expand my network with my family by doing family portraits as well as their friends for special occasions such as a baby shower, baby baptismal, weddings, and bridal showers.

EOC Week 10: 40 under 40

When I am 40, I would like to be in a photography studio business and be able to learn to start affiliates that help students be better photographers. I would like to start a studio that helps students do workshops that would help them grow as well as do their internship at my studio. I want to help students get ahead and use their workshops to make it in the real world. They would learn how to use the studio and the different lighting patterns to make their photos work. I would like to go travel to different countries and go to them with a heart to bring them back to my country with them in my photos and start a funding that would help those in need in those countries I have been. I would use the funding to help those small villages grow and be able to have a nice living area and clean and healthy lives to learn and grow. I want to also use fashion to fund the studios affliliates and help them grow. I would use the interns to make the fashion sprout and grow and be able to experience the fashion world with their photography. I would like to have my studio be a staff of at least six so that I have a smooth sailing business with those people in charge of the differenty departments in my business. It is my goal to help this business grow from the inside out and from the outside in making this a strong business. I want the business be a company with strong roots and branches. It is a business full of thriving individuals and goal oriented virtues to help make this the present happen and future unfold.. This is a business full of greater cause.

Week 8 EOC: Are celebrities Fair Game?

I think that most celebrities are fair game because they find ways to make their shots worth it. They use the profit from the shoots to give to their favorite charity. They go on the Red Carpet to promote the movies, the stylist, the designer, and of course their agent. They never go out unlessOther celebrities such as Sarah Palin does it to gain interests on her part and never uses it for causes. She would be best if she did her shots as nothing and still use it for a cause and that would be fair game. I think politicians use it for their own gain no matter what they are going for. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s children spread was worth the hunk of money because it was for their kids and the money went to charity. Some others just use it for their own gain. There is a new way where celebrities show up to parties at clubs and lounges to get customers to come into the clubs and lounge. They use it for charities as well. They use other events such as politicians events and use that to promote their party and the delegate. The movie we with Audry Hepburn is a good example because she was just out on a limb to have fun rather than just for her own gain. She wanted to be a normal person doing whatever she wanted. The reporter used it to gain a spread and money. He was not fair game in the beginning but when it got closer to the end, he realized that it was fair not to do the spread. Her reputation would be ruined if he did the spread. She came down from the throne to show respect to all the reporters to make is a true fair game.

WEEK 6 BOC: Ron Galella

Ron Galella has been sued, punched, verbally abused and soaked with a hose. These are just some of the occupational hazards for celebrity photojournalists.

1 He is the first to capture the essence of what a paparazzi should be. He keeps he photos very real and surreal with all the celebrities he has taken over the course of his photojournalism years. He came to situations where Jacki Onassis took him to court for invading her privacy especially her children. He even was socked in the lower chin breaking some of his teeth by Marlon Brando for asking him to take off his shades. He is everywhere and in any place to capture the real life of the celebrities every chance he gets. I would emulate him by capturing someone sitting and drinking coffee, and chatting on their cell phone at a coffee sandwich shop. . I would capture that person from behind a post only several feet away and keep snapping my shots until I am satisfied with what I have. I would make it during the day because that is usually the time that this person would go and have her breaks, somewhere clos to her house. Somewhere to a place where she is more or less comfortable doing her daily routine. I would make sure she does not see me or even mind me being there. It is the most golden part of the day when the sun has its morning glow and the air is cool. I want her to be in her most relaxed moment yet thinking at the same time. I would like to capture her drinking her coffee at the same time on her phone. Other times texting. I will get different angle to achieve the best angled shot. She will be in her moment of peace as well when I capture her as well.

WEEK 5 EOC: What is Your Copyright

There are many types of copyrights I would like to use. The question would be what type for which type of work I want to use them on. I would like to use the VA form because I want to protect my works that are published. I would want my body of work to be protected once it is used because there are many piraters who would love to take my work and show it off without citing who did it. Once the public see your work, your work is out there for those to use however they like. For the eCO for published works that are a good enough for an art director to recommend for any publication. The VA form is good for smaller type of jobs where they are good but not good enough to be recommended by less than most art director. I like to keep all my files in large quantities and also organize the really nice ones in their own group. It is imperative that I keep my really good works under scrutiny so that they are left for only me and no other person can use them to their own benefit. I like to keep my distance from the piraters that keep using the most dignified work and sell them for their own use. Most of my works will be used for VA form because I will be taking works that are done everyday and keep them organized. I do think that I would keep using the eCO because I see a lot of my work that would be used in publication. It will be useful to keep things protected from outside publications to use. It is vey seldom do I need to keep things at protection level at this time. I do protect them by inscripting them with my name and location and date.

WEEK 4 EOC: What Must Be On a Contract

All contracts must have a date on them. If you do not put a date then it is no negligible on your account. The term of time is reason to believe when it was done. You also must have a statement of the contract. The statement clarifies what the two parties agreed on. You must have signatures from both parties so that it is claimed as legal and the parties show that they agreed to such terms. On an editorial contract, one must write out the usage and the allowance of the usage. The allowance will be a range from a minimum to a maximum. Outline the fees and state what the fees are for so that it is clear to you and the client what is required for each item. For example use the terms quarter, half, full or double page rates. Editorial are based on the finished product. You must have a amendment in writing any changes which is called change orders. It has to say ”work-made-for-hire or you will not get your rights of ownership granted. There are negotiable contracts where you will send in your numbers or your estimates after your client has stated their time and estimates. A stamp with your company name, copyright . year, and contact information stating that you own the right to that document. On an estimate contract you must have the date, fees, product charges, contact information, and a signature with the date. It is your responsibility to have your information stated on the contract or it is lost in what was said on the meeting. If there is question on any part of your contract there has to be a change in order contract to make it more legal for both parties. All these essentials are needed on every contract.

Week 3 EOC Where Are you and Where Are You Going?

Where I am now financially is rough. Every time I try to save up or get a new account, I have another thing coming. It gets repetitive like the third party knew I had some set aside. I just sit and say well that was for that situation and know that I was able to pay it off. I have only enough to handle my small personal emergencies. I have enough to get my projects done that’s how I am now. I have always had medical insurance. In the past, I have been doing a retirement with saving some for bigger goals. I have had problems keeping track of what I had in my account in the past because I relied on the computer instead of my own calculations. In the past I was able to have enough to take little trips and invest in a business I was growing. It was a worth while investment because I had learned a lot about how to educate yourself in the business world. I am on my third new car and my first one was paid off so then I got a new one. The second one got messed up from reasons I would not mention so now I am on my third. In the future, I would like to be able to take little trips, save for retirement and save more for later. I want to have enough where I can have a family, nice home, two cars, couple cameras and insurance for each. I would like to have business insurance for my business also so that I can keep it afloat in bad situations that may come up. I still spend on things I should not because I think I would be fine in the end. And next thing I know it is gone and I am barely scrapping by to get some gas. I have to keep myself on that road to financial stability so that it is stable and sit back and say it has and will always be a good rough road to travel.

Week 2 EOC Sacrifices

I would give up everything including my health to be in my career. I like to be in the eye of the storm and be in the midst of poverty to make my photography be valuable. It is in my intuition to make a news of anything I see. My family comes second with my career because without my camera where or how do I support my family. I would live in anywhere and eat next to nothing because that is what it is about. It is about getting yourself in the situation to be understanding and grossed into the culture and be vulnerable to my surroundings. I love to be in the most dangerous situations such as bombings and battles to capture the actions out there.

1 Like Capa I want it to be the most riveting events that makes one’s skin want to jump out with shock. It is my duty to make the best of every moment. I drive on action and no action causes no reaction. I would sacrifice my time with my life partner to be able to capture the most beautiful scenes and fall in love. I love to make my scene my partner and my camera my love to be in that moment of peace. Those moments are the most timing places that makes me me. It makes me find peace and harmony and craziness and chaos all in one lifetime. I crave the situations where there is politics and culture clashing in everyone’s faces and know that it will be resolved later when there is peace. I like seeing the change after a big event because that is where I learn and we learn that life is about life.

Week 1 EOC: Haute Couture

Haute Couture is what every woman wants.It is a Haute Couture is a

It is that feeling of high fashion but only fits the few because of its size that fits her form. We want to be like them. Their style is our style because we want the best and first design that makes us the essence of epiphany and envy of everyone looking. The glance of the eyes wanting to be like us. We are the ones that are important. It is a moment of the feeling like a queen. We all want to be center of attention and marvel at our form and stature once we hit the red carpet. It is the woman's job or duty to dress as the best in crowd. The clicking of the paparazzi flashing their eyes at us as we pose the pretty or we say sexy pose to gain the media's coverage of high fashion. And the other side, the masters of the sewing room want their models to be fitted for their first piece finished. Who wears it in public will be their first customer that was on time from their first model. Who wears it first will be the one that everyone looks at. The fashion makers want their piece to be the best piece they have made. So that fit it to their model to portray their artwork. And for the photographer shooting the high in fashion wants the audience to see their work look like the first true version of that style. We capture the body work and make the audience see what we did not see before. We choose that character to portray the person wearing the fashion. It is that woman who wears this. She is the one that portrays haute couture of this outfit.

EOC Week 1: My Voice

Rachel is a creative photography who wants to capture what she sees in the world around her.. She has been doing four types of photos; therefore, they are portrait, fashion, architecture, and events. In portrait she has done different lighting to fit the mood for each. She made sure that they were lighted perfectly to convey a thought. In fashion, she did a Audrey Hepburn in her classic "Tiffany" wardrobe with the model acting the part. Another was a cowboy version that was fashioned with high style watch. The model posed the part with his flashy watch. In architecture, she had taken the strip, Brain Institute, Allure, Rhyolite and Nelson. On the new strip she captured the lights of the buildings to give it that HDR look. Each building taken from below to give it that vast and tall perspective. At the Brain Institute she took photos of the colors changing that contrasted against the metallic exterior for a off the wall type of architecture. At the old strip she showed her work to look like it reflected another building. The one building had mirror windows so you could see the colors of the other building. At Allure, she found that the interior had more interests. The inside had a certain glow and the windows had the outside making it a warm look. Rhyolite is an old runned down town from back in the 1800s. It was more of a museum type ghost town because of the statues around the area. There was a building that looked very ghostly but she took it with the sun just over the horizon to make it look alive. At night the she took it with different spots that made it stand out like it was ghostly against the dark night. At Nelson she saw old wooden buildings. She captured the old western style and the colors of farm and country in the old desert.As you can see she has done many types of photography that has laid the grounds of what she is and what she will be in the future.
